Being a Work-At-Home-Mum has many perks but, unsurprisingly, has its pitfalls too. Isolation and deadlines can generate a lot of stress. Fortunately, there are quite a lot of easy ways to ease the stress and create balance.
* Get exercise. Jogging, swimming, yoga, pilates and other types of exercise help you keep in shape, physically, but also mentally.
* Get enough sleep (although I have to admit, that's easier said than done for many a WAHM).
* Enlist in a course on something altogether unrelated to your work and family.
* Carve out some time for social occasions every week, like a lunch with a friend.
* If you have a good babysitter for your kids, schedule regular evenings out with your partner. If you're a single mum, having an evening to yourself every once in a while is very important too. If a babysitter is too expensive an option, why not try swapping services with another single mum?
