Entrepreneurial parents who work from home

Although I hope this site has something to offer to all parents, the focus is on parents who run their own business from home. Life is certainly never dull for those juggling multi-taskers, combining play dates and deadlines, business meetings and strolls in the park, soccer schedules and quotations. 

This site offers information on important issues for parents who are raising both a family and career under one roof. How do you start up a business, keep abreast of new insights regarding education, run a household, earn money and stay sane in the process? If you click on the subject areas to the left you'll see that each section has a general page, a list of books and a list of links. The best things in life being free, there is a 'free downloads' section in which you can download small guides, book summaries and profiles of seasoned work-at-home moms.

About us 

My name is Anne-Marijn Küthe. On becoming a mother, I discovered the cliché is true: children truly change your life. After my son Thomas was born, I continued working as a conference interpreter, but found that the long days away from him took their toll. This is not to say it can't work perfectly well for other people, but for me it meant feeling guilty and frustrated at all times. I turned my professional life around, by taking on translation assignments I can do from home. It's a decision I have never regretted. It's an option I wish on every parent. Thomas often tells me how he enjoys the fact that I am nearly always there for him (although to be frank, he does not always get my full attention and has to share me with the computer!). Being in charge of my work schedule and being able to be a committed parent has many rewards and er, challenges too.
